Hey! If you came to this page to know alittle bit about the author I am very flattered and grateful. Peter Meloche is the Pen name that I go by. I was born to Don and Elaine in Taylor, Michigan in September 1992. I got to grow up with two older siblings, Sam and Katie who I got to go on adventures with. I grew up, exploring the worlds of J.R.R Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Michael Crichton, and Steven Spielberg. Through these authors and directors I began to appreciate the depth that story can bring to our lives. Currently I am living in the Great White North of upper Michigan.
My first interaction with horror was with Steven Speilberg’s JAWS and Jurassic Park. These films shocked me, but filled me with awe! Later on I would be introduced to M. Night Shyamalan masterpiece, Signs where masterful story telling meets the audience at a level that brings them terror and hope in the same venue. In 2016 while studying to go into ministry, I had the privilege to write, direct, and act in a short film adaptation of Dracula by Bram Stoker which resulted in winning the Clarks Summit University Film Festival. Over time my pallet for the macabre has grown from Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot and The Stand; to John Carpenter’s The Thing and much more.
Two years ago I confided in a couple different friends about my interest in writing. Their response and support helped propel me into this new venture and its been a blast. As a follower of Christ, one of the genre’s of entertainment that attracts me is horror and suspense. I understand this genre may not be for everyone, but I believe it is the most ‘real’ genre of entertainment. Horror confronts us with the reality of evil in our world with the hope that it can be endured and in the end, beaten. I hope you enjoy these tales as much as I enjoy writing them.
Sincerely,
Peter Meloche.
